Relationship & Marriage Friendly Therapy

Therapy is a challenging and intense process that explores inner and outer realities to bring change into your life. Setting aside time and energy to focus on your inner emotional life can be richly rewarding.

What is my approach? I work from a depth psychological perspective to help you get beneath the surface of an issue. If a problem is simply what it appears to be, you probably have already resolved it on your own. Together, we'll look at both conscious and unconscious influences in your life.

What are the benefits of this approach? Deep, emotionally-based change can be integrated into daily living with increased energy, a new or renewed sense of purpose, and a great capacity to live fully and creatively. Relationships can become more genuine and satisfying.

Who can benefit? People of all ages and from all walks of life can experience deep and lasting change through depth-oriented therapeutic work.

Who do I work with? Individuals and couples, 18 years and older.

When is therapy helpful? Many people seek therapy when stress, anxiety, or depression interferes with their life in a way that can no longer be ignored.

Symptoms have a way of forcing a person to recognize that something needs to change. Symptoms can appear as:

  • A sense of discontent or disappointment
  • Helplessness or worry
  • Difficulty in relationships
  • An extremely busy schedule or a sense of isolation
  • Difficulty concentrating or time-consuming ruminating
  • Excessive or disrupted eating, sleeping, or sexual activity
  • Emotional exhaustion
  • Stress-related health problems or accidents
  • Creative blocks

Other people find that therapy is a powerful way to focus on personal growth at less-problematic yet challenging times throughout their life. Changes in life circumstances, such as graduation, marriage, divorce, children leaving home, or retirement can challenge and stimulate emotional development.

How long does therapy take? Regularly scheduled weekly sessions can help establish and maintain depth and continuity. More frequent sessions can intensify the work. You can choose:

How much does it cost? The fee depends on the length of the session, usually 60 minutes: current fees. Charge cards are accepted.

What about insurance? Most PPO insurance plans reimburse my psychotherapy services as an out-of-network LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) in California or New York. I provide monthly statements for you to submit to your insurance company, flexible spending account, or other health reimbursement program.
